CircularTexEFA
Hilaturas Jesús Rubio is part of the European project CircularTexEFA, a cross-border alliance of 11 partners to build a circular textile chain across the Pyrenees.
A Commitment to Textile Circularity
At Hilaturas Jesús Rubio, we have been transforming fibers into yarn with artisanal and industrial excellence for decades. Today, we are taking another step: we are joining the CircularTexEFA project to lead, alongside partners from Spain, France, and Andorra, the transition towards a truly sustainable textile industry.
CircularTexEFA structures a circular textile value chain on a cross-border scale, organizing textile waste collection, reuse, and recycling networks within the POCTEFA territory. This project not only addresses waste but redefines the value of textiles.
It also includes a component of awareness-raising and training for stakeholders and citizens, to support the transition towards more sustainable practices throughout the Pyrenean region.
What do we aim for?
01. Collection and Classification
Organize efficient cross-border textile waste collection networks, optimizing material classification and pre-treatment.
02. Reuse and Recycling
Develop advanced recycling processes and facilitate textile reuse, closing the material life cycle.
03. Cross-border Cooperation
Create synergies between entities from the three countries for a cohesive circular textile value chain on both sides of the Pyrenees.
04. Training and Awareness
Train sector agents and raise public awareness about more sustainable textile practices through training programs.
05. Circular Value Chain
Structure a complete circular textile economy where each thread has an extended life cycle throughout the POCTEFA territory.
06. Sustainable Transition
Support the textile sector’s transition towards more sustainable practices, integrating circularity as a central pillar.
Cooperation that crosses borders
CircularTexEFA brings together 11 partners, generating a collaborative network that strengthens territorial synergies and jointly advances towards a more efficient and sustainable model.
A project with European backing
CircularTexEFA is 65% co-financed by the European Union, within the POCTEFA program, whose purpose is to strengthen economic and social integration in the cross-border area between Spain, France, and Andorra.
This support enables the promotion of initiatives that generate both environmental and social impact, aligned with current sustainability challenges.
