Sylvia Calvo BCN and Hilaturas Jesús Rubio hold circular fashion event in Barcelona.<\/h2>\n

On 19 September, Hilaturas Jesús Rubio had the honour of participating in a circular fashion event in Barcelona<\/strong>, together with Sylvia Calvo BCN<\/a> and Molenbergnatie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The meeting, entitled Green Coffee and Fashio<\/strong>n<\/strong><\/em>, highlighted the benefits of industrial symbiosis and circular economy<\/strong>, presenting innovative textile solutions such as the ReYutCel fabric<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This material, made from recycled coffee sacks<\/strong>, was a clear example of how sustainability can be integrated into fashion design.<\/p>\n

During the event, we were able to enjoy an exclusive fashion show<\/strong> with garments by Sylvia Calvo BCN<\/strong>, made with recycled materials<\/strong> and sustainable yarns<\/strong> from Hilaturas Jesús Rubio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Molenbergnatie<\/strong>, as a logistics manager, has a coffee and cocoa warehouse in Barcelona, which became the focal point of a day dedicated to sustainability, innovation and creativity.<\/p>\n

Sandra Guevara<\/strong>, representative of Circular4theFuture\/G100<\/strong>, participated to address the collaboration between companies from different sectors and the relevance of the circular economy.<\/p>\n

Guevara stressed that ‘the transition to a circular economy<\/strong> starts with understanding nature and then integrating it into production processes. Business leadership seeks a joint evolution, where all parties involved benefit’.<\/p>\n

In addition, she mentioned several examples, such as the innovative Kalundborg project in Denmark<\/strong>, which has demonstrated advantages such as return on investment, cost reduction and regeneration of the natural environment, all benefits closely linked to the circular economy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Pilar Chiva<\/strong>, representative of the Circular Economy area of the Waste Agency of Catalonia, presented a new project aimed at facilitating the exchange of resources and promoting industrial symbiosis in Catalonia through a digital platform.<\/p>\n

She also mentioned the Pact for Circular Fashion<\/a>, promoted by this Catalan entity, which for some time now has been promoting the selective collection of textile waste<\/strong> in Barcelona and other provinces, with the voluntary participation of 115 companies.<\/p>\n

It is important to point out some not very encouraging data: only 10-15% of textile waste is collected selectively, while the remaining 85-90% ends up in landfills or is incinerated.<\/p>\n

This event has shown that sustainable fashion is more than a trend: it is a necessity. For Hilaturas Jesús Rubio, working in synergy with visionary designers like Sylvia Calvo is key to developing innovative solutions that respect the environment and optimise available resources.<\/p>\n

The success of our ReYutCel fabric collaboration, recognised internationally with the Green Product Award 2023<\/strong><\/a>, is just the beginning of many more initiatives that will seek to redefine textile production<\/strong> towards a more sustainable future.<\/p>\n

Commitment to sustainability<\/strong><\/h2>\n

At Hilaturas Jesús Rubio<\/strong>, we remain committed to the manufacture of regenerated and recycled yarns<\/strong><\/a>, always looking for new opportunities to make the most of waste and minimise environmental impact<\/strong>. Collaborations like that of Sylvia Calvo BCN are essential to move towards a more conscious and circular textile industry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This type of event not only encourages us to continue innovating, but also serves as an example for other industries to adopt more responsible practices. We are committed to a future in which design and sustainability go hand in hand, and we hope that more sectors will join this ecological transformation.<\/p>\n
